Odor problem
Odor problem
An odor problem occur the moment odor-polluted exhaust air is transferred to the environment.
Strong odor pollution of process exhaust air occurs particularly in the food industry and rubber productions, as well as in thermal metal processing and the production of pharmaceutical products. These production plants are often located in the immediate or indirect vicinity of residential areas or cities. This proximity and comprehensive legal guidelines require a high degree of odor separation indispensable.
Depending on the intensity of odor contamination, different extraction solutions can be implemented. In addition to conventional processes such as thermal oxidation, KMA Umwelttechnik offers the possibility to extend its high-performance exhaust air filter systems with modules for high-grade odor separation. The energy-efficient electrostatic precipitator is often combined with a UV light module. The electrostatic precipitator cell efficiently extracts dust, smoke and other particle emissions from the exhaust air. Inside the UV light module, aerosols and intensely smelling VOC molecules are oxidized and neutralized.
The modular design of KMA exhaust air filtration systems can be individually adapted according to the respective odor contamination of the exhaust air stream. If required, an activated carbon filter or a gas scrubber can also be integrated into the exhaust air purification system. The KMA bio filter module can also be implemented for large exhaust air volumes with a low odor contamination. Similar to thermal oxidation, odors are separated using biochemical oxidation through microorganisms.
