Abhesive mist

Abhesive mist

The term abhesive mist describes a very fine mist mixture which is created when an abhesive evaporates under heat exposure. Abhesives are used in metal processing, e.g. die casting, to facilitate the removal of finished castings from the solid casting mould. The applied abhesives are usually based on an oil or emulsion mixture.
An abhesive mist is composed of oily and pasty aerosols, various gases and large quantities of very small solid particles. This composition makes a high degree of separation of release agent mists indispensable. Without any filtration, the impurities contained in the exhaust air stream could spread in the production hall or accumulate on the machines – and thus can lead to the failure of the production machines.
KMA Umwelttechnik uses its high-performance exhaust air filtration system to separate abhesive mists from the exhaust air. Thanks to their modular design, KMA exhaust air purification systems are specifically adapted to the challenges of purifying abhesive mists. The energy-efficient electrostatic precipitator purifies the production exhaust air using electrostatic charging. Depending on requirements or customer wishes, additional filter components can be added or retrofitted, for example for odor separation or heat recovery.
