Our conviction – Clean Air. Save Energy.

KMA Umwelttechnik is an owner-managed family enterprise, which had been established in 1959 by Josef Kurtsiefer as a metal processing company. In the beginnings the company concentrated on the production of doors, gates and metal facades. But in the 1970s followed soon the change to the plant construction.

The emerging laws for the environmental protection have led to the specialization in exhaust air filtration systems for the food industry. In the course of the company´s extension KMA expanded its delivery program to additional application areas as for example metal industry, foundries, textile industry and further industrial areas for use.

Clean Air. Save Energy.

Our achievements.

KMA Umwelttechnik has been honoured with the LUDWIG in the category INNOVATION 2018.

The growing environmental technology business won against 13 other competing companies thanks to its innovative developments in the field of environmental technology. The professional jury particularly emphasized the energy efficient and environmentally friendly exhaust air filter systems for reducing CO2 emissions while simultaneously recovering energy for the manufacturing industry.

The LUDWIG is the only German regional award to honour small and medium-sized businesses for their achievements in various areas through their entrepreneurial performance.

Management, represented by Mr Rolf Kurtsiefer, thanked the jury and pointed out how this award was only made possible due to the outstanding work of the whole KMA staff. The LUDWIG Award in the category INNOVATION is both an honour and motivation for KMA Umwelttechnik to continue on its successful path in this future-oriented industry.

Various awards for KMA Hybrid Filter in the food processing

The KMA Hybrid Filter is inter alia used for the air filtration of industrial frying and cooking systems and thus replaces the traditional after-burning systems. The KMA Filter System reduces the energy consumption significantly about more than 80%. Reason enough to receive the famous ‘Fleischerei Technik’ Award for outstanding and sustainable technology in the food production at the IFFA 2013 exhibition.

Also the jury members of the Volksbank Bonn Rhein-Sieg pay tribute to the development of the KMA Hybrid Filters with an innovation award and praise not only the high economic efficiency of the new filter technology, but especially the high ecological relevance. Beside the high energy savings, large amounts of CO2 emissions are reduced. For the jury members it was clear that the KMA technology makes an important contribute to the improvement of the enterprise ecobalance.

MM Innovation Award for the KMA large filter system

There, the modular KMA large filter, which dispose of an exhaust air capacity of 30000 m3/h, was presented the first time in operation.

KMA ULTRAVENT Air Filtration Systems ensure beside the high degree of purification of the exhaust air simultaneously the recovery of the heat contained in the air flow. The recovered energy can be used for heating the supply air or the service water. Due to the high separation efficiency the KMA large filter can be used in diverse application areas (metal as also food processing industries). High energy cost savings are guaranteed in all the application areas. A sustainable and innovative technology!

This view was also shared by the expert jury of the MM (Maschinen Markt) AWARD. By saying „a company, which has recognized and implemented the turnaround in energy policy“, KMA Umwelttechnik was awarded with the MM Innovation Award 2013 for the filter system UV H 30000 at the EMO in Hannover.
